In the fast-paced game, you have 3 different modes: Championship, Challenge, and Trial. In trial, it’s just you and the track. Your only objective is to get around the track in the fastest time possible. In challenge mode, it’s a simple 5 lap race. The goal here is simple to win. Championship mode is like challenge mode, except instead of winning one race, you have to try to win several. Micro Racers 2 is a fun game for anyone with a competitive spirit. An overall rating for Micro Racers 2: 7/10

Street Drifting
The last one is Street Drifting. It handles just like the previous two games, the up arrow is to go forward, the left and right arrows are for steering, and the down arrow is for braking. At the beginning menu, you can create your own custom car for the game. You have the option of changing the model of the car, its skirt, its wheels, its door, the roof, and you can change the color of the body of the car and create tinted windows in whatever color you want. The tracks are fun, and you’re going to have to work hard to make sure you win the race. An overall rating for Street Drifting: 9/10

The game is an abstract strategy game, where you play a little ship that tries to take over geometric shapes by taking over various vertices while your opponents are trying to do the same thing to you.  Sounds simple, but the way your power ups work is that their charge depends on how you capture the vertices.  There is a hierarchy of colours, starting at red and ending with white, and no two colours can be connected.  That means if you capture a red vertex, all the ones around will be blue which is the next colour down.  Depending on which blue you capture, your next choices will be either red or green.  That means the more powerful abilities are lower down the colour chain, which makes setting the colours up pretty important because they will determine what abilities you get to use.  That’s where the math puzzle comes in.

I have been playing this online game on my ipod touch.  It is called Rogue Vertex Online.  You play as one of three warringfactions (The Walrussians, The Llamadons, or The Yetese).  You start of with a low level ship and complete missions for credits with which to buy better weapons, better accessories, and a better ship.  You also tailor your skillset for increased Attacks, Defense, Health, etc.

It took me a few weeks to get through the missions (and I played A LOT) but then the fun really started.  Organizing and executing raids on the other planets in the the other systems.  There is a very active online message boards to organize and plan the attacks (Rogue Vertex Online).  Combat is turned-based on the top of the hour.

I suggest playing in the Walrussian faction (that’s where I’m at).

The program is currently at 2.2o with 3.0 arriving shortly.  There are a lot of enhancements coming with 3.0 (later post I am sure).
